Well, perhaps I don’t. But Milk Industries does. If you haven’t been introduced to this awesome clothing line – it’s about time you do. Their fresh and fun-taste-ic designs are looking great and are ready to consume!

Milk Industries come from Italy and the brand was conceived after liters and liters of coffee. Add a little (designer) milk in it – and there you have a lovely Italian caffè macchiato you just cannot resist. It even tastes better if consumed with some donuts, wursts or candies. All this incorporated makes Milk Industries one of the nicest lines I’ve came across lately.

Brand concept and designs

As already mentioned – Milk Industries designs are based on stuff most of us consume everyday, making it look more appealing and irresistible with the mighty force of their well-trained designer hand. They wanted to create something to wear on everyday basis, without looking monotone. That’s why they choose lovable colors when designing  almost cartoon-ish characters out of foods and drinks.

Web presence

Having their website there on Wix platform, along with Spreadshirt shop and Facebook profile, I’d say Milk Industries’ web presence is okay. However, they should invest into their own website to make it more serious. They’ve also started to use Twitter recently – which is a great thing for promotion of their awesome tees – so make sure you follow them today!

Printing method

All Milk Industries are printed using a Spreadshirt method. In case you don’t know how this works – Spreadshirt is a T-shirt designer platform which allows you to create your own designs and customize your own shirts. After you submit your design it gets printed and sent to you. After you payed for it, of course… Spreadshirt also allows you to create your online shop where other people can buy your designs and Spreadshirt takes it’s percentage of sales. This is especially handy for smaller quantities of shirts and for lines that are just starting because you don’t have to invest a lot of money into shirts and printing. Although I think it’s nice system I’d love to see Milk Industries printing their stuff on their own one day.

Offering and pricing

Apart from your regular men and women styled T-shirts, Milk Industries offer hoodies, too, making sure you’re warm when drinking your daily glass of milk. All of their designs are printed onto American Apparel items, which guarantees you great quality. Prices are okay, too, perhaps a bit higher than average, but still affordable. Shirts range from around €20.00 – €26.oo, while hooded sweatshirts are offered for around €40.00. By the way – 1 Euro is like 1.4 dollars at the moment, so do some maths.

Ninjaboy shirt design by Aaitski! How to create T-shirt designs which are both looking good and are easy to sell?  T-shirt market is flooded with tons of different designs, targeting specific customers, but not many lines find “the secret formula”. Luckily, seems like Belgian indie label Aaitski! found theirs.

Aaitski! cutees

Aaitski! was founded when two creative minds by the names of Kingseys and The Knight Writer transformed their animals and children based ideas into cute and funky iconic designs. Add a bit odd name – and there you have a cool clothing brand! Upon it’s conception Aaitski! was very well received by rockers, rollers, all those feeling happy or blue and especially their offspring. Today it’s the ever-growing family of tees, hooded sweaters and kids clothes, spreading their cutees across the world, operating from Belgium, Europe.

Brand concept & designs

As already mentioned – Aaitski! creates cute lil’ icons based on various animals, different boys’n’girls appearances and a whole set of vehicles, including bulldozers,  submarines and jets (not to forget spaceships, too). All designs have unique, easy-to-recognize designer signature, which sets Aaitski! apart from other players in the game, no matter how good they are. I first saw their icons couple of years ago when I’ve started Teezine and I immediately loved the brand, admiring the fact they can turn  a panda, a robot and a ninja into such simple, yet distinct designs.

Printing method

It would be a pity if such great looking designs weren’t printed the proper way. All Aaitski! designs are manually screen-printed, which is perhaps the most popular method of printing. If done properly, screen printing ensures long durability and resistivity of colors. You can’t tell a lot just from looking at the photos, but I’m sure folks at Aaitski! really pay attention to printing, as much as to designing.

Offering & pricing

Aaitski! offer is one of the most diverse out there, including men and women styled T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and kids style tees. Their website also contains a very detailed info on their items, which explains exact sizes, textures and styles, as well as maintenance methods. Prices are  a bit higher, but still reasonable – they charge €25.00 for regular T-shirts, €50.00 for hoodies, €22.50 for kids tees and €27.50 for kids rompers.

Unique clothing for unique people

With such a profiled and deliberate approach Aaitski! represents truly unique, one-of-a-kind independent clothing label that offers much, both in quality of their designs and wideness of items in their online shop. Big plus is they produce clothing for your lil’ ones, too. If you order something from Aaitski! no question you’ll be noticed by everyone, whilst wearing something unique, produced the indie way. I’d only like to see more professional model photos of Aaitski! actual items on their website. Oh, and an actual shop would be cool, too 🙂

What do you think about Aaitski! designs? I’d love to hear your opinion, so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. Thank you!

Starting a clothing company seems like a cool idea, but will you manage to make it come true? Having great ideas is – of course – very nice, however you must have some luck along the way, too. Luckily for him – Ben Farleigh of London-based streetwear line Yes No Maybe inhereted a screen printer from his dad’s old workplace, along  with some screen-printing frames, so he could start the old-school way: try / fail / learn.

After the nucleus of Yes No Maybe was created Ben managed to broaden his apparel to many various items within next few years. It now offers hooded sweaters, bags, beanies, caps and many other sweet little thingies. It would be almost impossible to present Yes No Maybe whole offer in a single post, so I’ll rather introduce their latest winter line, called Filthy Dirty.

  • Concept

As you can see Filthy Dirty collection features a splodgy design which is covering each item as a whole. Grey, black and blue stains in various shades are printed onto white pieces of clothes, which makes a great looking combination, especially if you’re wearing it outside (i.e. – hoodies).

  • Offer

Similar to Yes No Maybe previous lines, such as Bukkake Ruined My Carpet and StreetglamFilthy Dirty collection is very diverse, featuring such products as zip-up hoodies (in both men and women styles), women-styled sweaters, vests and caps. It’s certainly much more than many other similar companies offer, however I think they might have included a men-styled sweater, too.

  • Prices

Prices range depending on desired item, starting from £25.65 for women-sytles T-shirts and vests, £39.60 for women-styled crew sweater, up to £53.10 for both men and women-styled zip-thru hoodies. Prices fit the offer well,  I only think that £26.09 for baseball cap is a bit pricey. However that’s just my humble opinion and it shouldn’t prevent you from ordering it.

In conclusion I’d like to state Yes No Maybe is a very interesting  clothing company you should have your eye on. They not only have a wide range of products in their offer, but also feature nice, deliberate designs that represent young opinionated people, not forgetting everything’s relative in life.

Would I recommend Filthy Dirty to you? Yes. Would I lie if I tell you YNM has more cool lines? No. Would I like other items added to Filthy Dirty line? Maybe.

I’d love to hear your opinion on Fithy Dirty line. Would you perhaps like to own some other Yes No Maybe item? Let us all know by leaving your comment below – your opinion is greatly appreciated!

Starting a tee label is a 50/50% situation. 50% win, or 50% fail. You just gotta know where are you heading, you have to be persistent and a little extra luck couldn’t hurt. Most people make a few designs, print them onto shirts just to “taste the waters” and then quit after the first obstacle.

I guess guys behind Nokturnal Clothing (from Leeds, UK) went to this trip with clear heads – they seem to know whom they’re addressing with their designs, which sets a very good platform for the starters. Speaking of which – they’ve only started in January this year and already managed to create a very impressive line, especially if you’re into big colorful prints with obscure looking characters.

Most of the labels in this sub-genre of T-shirt designs are printing whatever they can onto garment, mainly because of guaranteed profits, not caring for their own signature. From what I can see – Nokturnal Clothing doesn’t go this way. Whilst not every design is made by the same designer, Nokturnal do have it’s own signature, and although the designs are undoubtedly aggressive – the colors they use are somewhat restrained, which is what I like.

As I’ve already stated – characters which are dominating their designs are a bit bizzare and obscure and the prints are massive, often consisting of five colors altogether. Since it’s begginings, Nokturnal concentrated on the varied offer; along the T-shirts you can also find vests and those provocatively lady pants in their online shop.

Prices range depending on a product, with the tees going from 10-15 British Pounds and the vests for 15£. Some designs are available in other color combinations, guess you’ll have to councel with the guys from Nokturnal about that.

I’d like to add that Nokturnal uses sponsoring as one of their marketing strategies, which will be discussed in one of my future posts. Also, I hear their new line is coming soon and these fine Leeds lads offered an exclusive preview for all of you Teezine readers, so keep your eyes open!

Agree? Disagree? Please feel free to leave a comment!

Although a recent email from David of Chrmng Industries was my first proper introduction to this clothing label – I already LOVE it! Not that they only offer a wide range of items – they also have some cool & great looking designs. I especially love the simplicity in their approach, typical for the indie-style designs, whilst being eye-catching and strong at the same time. Here are the few examples from their men-styled T-shirt offer.

As you can see the colors Chrmng Indiustries are using when designing are basic and the images are hand-drawn (as well as typography), which adds much to the uniqueness of the brand. The images refer to nature (i.e. clouds, animals, trees…), trying to perhaps bring awareness amongst their potential customers of the world that surrounds us, not only being the urban surroundings / cities.

I like the fact that being consious and aware of other peoples needs is very important for this brand, as 10% of each purchase goes into production of the clothes for people who really need it. The prices are also very affordable, with tees going for $20.00. The wide range of items in Chrmng online shop is best shown through kids-style line, which is more than charming, but also through tote bags, hoodies and those handy pins you all love!

For the end I’d like to mention that these unisex zip-up hoodies are priced as low as $30.00, plus the coupon code “teezine” will get you 20% off! With such a profiled and very well targeted approach I am sure Chrmng Industries is on their way to grow rapidly as one of the leading independent clothing brands. I know these are the strong words, however their designs and their offer is there to prove it.

To tell you the truth – I was attracted to this London clothing line because of their name. The term “death before dishonour” can be often heard here and there and you mustadmit it sounds fatalistic. Just like Samurai. The “harakiri” thing these guys had – when they would kill themselves if they felt they’ve betrayed their family or country – is just one of the motives for Death Before Dishonour Clothing designs. Their latest offer was inspired by Buddhism, which is also very important for the Samurai philosophy.

Now, before you conclude something else, I must tell you guys behind Death Before Dishonour are driven by the irony of “blood and guts” approach, “throwing it straight back at anyone foolish enough to embrace thuggery”. Mr. Chris Manning, the designer, says: “this is a play on Sleeping Samurais lose their eyes. The eye of wakefulness is a Samurais greatest protection”.

“The eye shining above the bones signifies that the true state of wakefulness (enlightenment) is beyond the mortal structure of man… i.e. bones & sinew”, adds Manning. By the way – the word “kanji” in Japanese writing says “samurai”, and the title of the design is “Eyeball”. Browsing DBD website, I particulary liked this “Sleeping Samurai” design.

The design is inspired by the classic works of Miyamoto Musashi, one of the greatest Samurai warriors of all times, famed for his duels and distinctive style. He also wrote “The Book Of Five Rings”  – a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today. As you can see, the tee is also available in women style and is screen printed, containing part of the Samurai code inside the garment.  Apart from tees, DBD Clothing offers swatshirts, too, and here’s the one I really liked.

This one features another famous Japanese warrior – Ninja! Quicker than shadow and more quiet than the summer wind, Ninja Skeleton creeps out of the darkness and is about to assassinate you! I really liked the graphic novel Noir style inspired design with dynamic and highlighted shadowing. This sweat is of heavyweight high quality combed cotton. Just like this DBD Clothing logo hoodie, which is among their sale items now.

Apart from the very nice designs and the broadness of their apparel, I’ll make one annotation to DBD Clothing; they should perhaps redesign their website. I don’t wanna say it’s not easy to navigate, but this version makes a slight unjustice to such fine looking items.

And so, all of you tee Samurais, before you go and sacrifice your life for some higher purpose, please make sure to check Death Before Dishonour online shop. And please off yourself after your order arrives.

Schools can be so cruel.  Especially if you have bad taste in picking up the stuff to wear. If it wasn’t so with RoyLyn Le’Vaughan Palmer-Coleman, I wouldn’t be blogging about his relatively new and exciting clothing line Vaughn De Heart. So, how to overcome everydays’ mocking by your school mates? By designing your own shirts, of course! In no time RoyLyn’s DIY shirts were more popular than Lady GaGa’s latest single. Well, almost… However, the brand called Vaughn de Heart (Vaughn “of heart”) was conceived after RoyLyn designed shirts for his college fraternity. Once he saw a completely unknown man with wife and kids wearing one of his shirts RoyLyn decided to start his own line.

By the first look it’s evident Vaughn De Heart designs are of simple shapes, yet still they occupy rather large areas of garment. It’s also perceptible they incline toward classic fashion styles, so I guess Vaughn De Heart could become popular among the people who follow trends, along with the ones who are of free spirit and passionate in everything they do. Just like RoyLyn.

I like the fact RoyLyn didn’t leave his design only at chest print. There’s Vaughn De Heart logo printed on the sleeve of each shirt, along with nice looking tags which are telling the subtitles to each design (plus the instructions on how to maintain your piece of cloth). It surely gives the personal touch, while looking great at the same time.

All Vaughn De Heart items are limited edition and RoyLyn is not planning reprints after all are gone. He will rather focus on new designs. Not only does Vaughn De Heart produces great T-shirts – they also offer a backpack, too (well, more like the bag you can wear on your back). Maybe that’s just the beggining of extending the line? Who know, we’ll see. The bottom line is – with such profiled approach Vaughn De Heart is on the right path climbing up The Mountain Of Independent Fashion.
